PR social copywriting
Quick answer
- 01What is it?
- The same message posted identically on IG, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X will underperform on ALL of them. It stands out by giving social content a defined shape, so the agent asks for better context and returns a more usable result.
- 02Inputs
- Context for social content: your goals, audience, constraints, and any source material the skill asks for.
- 03Output
- A ready-to-use result for social content: the analysis, copy, or recommendations the agent produces.

Social Media Copywriting
Framework
IRON LAW: Every Platform Has a Different Tone
The same message posted identically on IG, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X
will underperform on ALL of them. Each platform has different audience
psychology, content format, and algorithm preferences. Adapt the message,
don't just cross-post.
Platform Tone Guide
| Platform | Tone | Length | Visual | Best Content |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aspirational, visual-first, lifestyle | Caption: 150-300 chars for feed, longer OK for carousels | Essential (photo/reel/carousel) | Behind-the-scenes, tutorials, UGC, reels | |
| Conversational, community, informative | 40-80 chars for engagement, longer for groups | Helpful but not required | News, events, discussions, longer stories | |
| Professional, insightful, authority | 150-300 chars hook, up to 3000 for articles | Optional (increases reach) | Industry insights, achievements, lessons learned | |
| X/Twitter | Sharp, witty, real-time | < 280 chars (shorter = more engagement) | Optional (increases engagement) | Hot takes, threads, real-time commentary |
| Threads | Casual, conversational, authentic | 500 chars max | Optional | Personal takes, community engagement |
Hook Techniques (First 2 Lines)
The hook must stop the scroll. Proven patterns:
| Technique | Example |
|---|---|
| Contrarian | "Most SEO advice is wrong. Here's what actually works." |
| Number | "3 mistakes killing your conversion rate" |
| Question | "Ever wonder why your best employees quit?" |
| Story | "Last year I lost our biggest client. Here's what I learned." |
| Bold claim | "Your pricing page is losing you 40% of potential customers." |
| Curiosity gap | "The one thing I wish someone told me before starting a startup..." |
CTA (Call to Action) Design
| Goal | CTA Style | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Engagement | Ask a question | "What's your biggest marketing challenge? Drop it below 👇" |
| Traffic | Direct link | "Link in bio for the full guide" |
| Save/Share | Value proposition | "Save this for your next campaign planning session 📌" |
| DM/Lead | Soft ask | "DM me 'GUIDE' and I'll send you the template" |
Hashtag Strategy
| Platform | Strategy |
|---|---|
| 5-15 hashtags, mix of broad (#marketing, 1M+ posts) + niche (#taiwanstartup, 10K posts) + branded (#YourBrand) | |
| 3-5 hashtags max, professional (#leadership, #saas) | |
| X/Twitter | 1-2 hashtags max, trending or event-based |
| 0-2 hashtags (minimal impact) |
Content Calendar Pattern
| Day | Content Type | Goal |
|---|---|---|
| Mon | Industry insight / thought leadership | Authority |
| Tue | Tutorial / how-to | Value |
| Wed | Behind-the-scenes / team | Trust |
| Thu | User story / testimonial | Social proof |
| Fri | Casual / fun / poll | Engagement |
Output Format
# Social Post: {Topic}
## Instagram
**Hook**: {first line}
**Caption**: {full caption with line breaks}
**Hashtags**: {5-15 hashtags}
**CTA**: {engagement or action}
**Visual**: {image/reel/carousel description}
## LinkedIn
**Hook**: {first line}
**Post**: {professional angle, 150-300 chars}
**Hashtags**: {3-5}
## X/Twitter
**Tweet**: {< 280 chars, sharp}
Gotchas
- Algorithm rewards native content: Links in posts reduce reach on most platforms. Put links in comments (LinkedIn) or bio (Instagram) instead of the post body.
- Engagement in first 30 minutes matters: Reply to every comment in the first hour. Algorithm interprets early engagement as signal to distribute wider.
- UGC outperforms brand content: User-generated content gets 4x more engagement than brand-produced content. Encourage and reshare customer posts.
- Taiwan social landscape: LINE is dominant for 1:1, IG for Gen Z/millennials, Facebook for 30+. PTT and Dcard influence brand perception significantly but aren't traditional social "platforms."
- Don't sell in every post: Follow the 80/20 rule — 80% value/entertainment, 20% promotional. Audiences unfollow brands that only sell.

## Scenario
**公司**:Flowra(台灣 B2B SaaS,提供電商賣家的庫存自動化工具)
目標平台:Instagram(主力)、LinkedIn(拓展 B2B 決策者)、X/Twitter(科技社群曝光)
---
## Analysis
### Step 1:
Iron Law
| X/Twitter | Contrarian(打破迷思)| 科技圈愛反直覺觀點 |
- Instagram:
- LinkedIn:Link in comment(非 post body,避免降觸及)
### Step 5:Hashtag
- LinkedIn(4 個):#ecommerce #inventorymanagement #saas #digitaltransformation
- X/Twitter(2 個):#ecommerce #AI

# Social Post: Flowra
---
## Instagram
**Hook**:
**Hashtags**:
---
## LinkedIn
**Hook**:

## X/Twitter
**Tweet**:
Most ecom sellers think their inventory problem is "buying wrong."
It's not. It's timing.
Our data: 78% of overstock happens in the 3 weeks *before* peak season — when demand signals are still ambiguous.
We built a restock predictor for exactly that window. 🧵
**Thread

# Content Calendar
## Core Principle
A content calendar is a scheduling system, not a creative brief. Its job is to enforce the 80/20 rule mechanically: across any 4-week period, no more than 20% of posts should be promotional. The calendar enforces this before you write a single word.
---
## The 4-Week Rotation Model
Use a repeating 4-week block. Every week has the same structural role; the topics rotate.
Week 1: Authority Week 2: Value Week 3: Trust Week 4: Harvest (engagement + soft CTA)
Within each week, use the 5-day rhythm from SKILL.md:
| Day | Content Type | Tone | CTA Style |
|-----|--------------------|----------------|--------------------|
| Mon | Industry insight | Authoritative | Thought-provoking question |
| Tue | Tutorial / how-to | Instructional | Save / share |
| Wed | Behind-the-scenes | Warm, human | Ask for reaction |
| Thu | User story / UGC | Social proof | Tag someone |
| Fri | Poll / casual | Playful | Vote / react |
Weekend posts are optional. If you post on weekends, default to resharing top-performing weekday content with a new caption angle — do not produce new content types on weekends.
---
## Promotional Post Quota
Count promotional posts separately. Across a standard 20 weekday slots per month:
Max promotional slots = 20 × 0.20 = 4 posts/month
Promotional = any post whose primary goal is to sell a product, promote a service, or drive direct conversion. Thought leadership that happens to mention your product is **not** promotional.
Reserve promotional slots for:
1. Product launch or feature announcement
2. Limited-time offer or event
3. Case study with direct conversion link
4. Pricing/package announcement
If you run out of quota, push the promotional post to next month. Do not exceed the cap.
---
## Platform Allocation per Slot
Not every content type belongs on every platform. Use this allocation matrix to decide which platforms get each day's post:
| Day Type | Instagram | LinkedIn | X/Twitter | Facebook |
|-----------------------|-----------|----------|-----------|----------|
| Industry insight | ◐ | ● | ● | ○ |
| Tutorial / how-to | ● | ◐ | ○ | ◐ |
| Behind-the-scenes | ● | ◐ | ○ | ● |
| User story / UGC | ● | ◐ | ○ | ● |
| Poll / casual | ◐ | ○ | ● | ◐ |
| Promotional | ◐ | ● | ◐ | ◐ |
● = primary platform (write a native version)
◐ = secondary platform (adapt from primary, do not copy-paste)
○ = skip or repurpose only if capacity allows
**IRON LAW reinforcement**: "adapt" means rewriting the hook and adjusting tone. A LinkedIn industry insight uses data and professional framing; the same topic on X/Twitter becomes a sharp one-liner or thread starter. Never copy-paste the same caption across platforms.
---

## Scheduling Mechanics
### Optimal Post Times (Taiwan / GMT+8)
Based on typical B2C and B2B patterns for Taiwan audience. Adjust based on your own analytics after 60 days.
| Platform | Weekday best windows | Weekend |
|-----------|-------------------------------|---------------|
| Instagram | 12:00–13:00, 19:00–21:00 | 10:00–12:00 |
| LinkedIn | 08:00–09:00, 12:00–13:00 | Avoid |
| X/Twitter | 08:00–09:00, 21:00–23:00 | 10:00–12:00 |
| Facebook | 13:00–15:00, 20:00–22:00 | 10:00–12:00 |
The LinkedIn morning window (08:00–09:00) is particularly strong for Taiwan professionals commuting or checking feeds before work. Miss this window and reach drops noticeably.
### Buffer Before First Comment
Post → wait 10 minutes → add your own comment with:
- The link you couldn't put in the post body (LinkedIn, Instagram)
- A follow-up question if engagement is the goal
- On Instagram: the bulk of your hashtags if you prefer cleaner captions
This is not optional for LinkedIn — a link in the post body is penalized by the algorithm. Put it in the first comment.
---
## Monthly Planning Workflow
Run this process on the last Thursday of each month for the following month.
**Step 1 — Review last month's performance** (30 min)
Pull these numbers for each post:
- Reach / impressions
- Engagement rate = (likes + comments + shares + saves) / reach
- Profile visits or link clicks (if applicable)
Flag the top 3 posts by engagement rate. Note what content type, hook technique, and platform they were on. These are your signals for the next month.
**Step 2 — Set topics** (45 min)
Fill in the 20 weekday slots with topics only — no captions yet. Topics should come from:
- Product roadmap events (launches, updates, milestones)
- Industry calendar (conferences, regulatory changes, Taiwan holidays)
- Your top-performing content from last month (repurpose with new angle)
- Evergreen tutorials that can rotate annually
Do not fill topics from inspiration or vague ideas. Every topic needs a source.
**Step 3 — Assign promotional slots** (10 min)
Identify which 4 slots (max) will be promotional. Mark them clearly. If you have fewer than 4 promotional needs this month, leave the remaining slots as value content — do not manufacture promotions to fill the quota.
**Step 4 — Write copy** (varies)
Write in batches by platform, not by date. Write all LinkedIn posts in one session, then Instagram, then X/Twitter. Batching keeps your voice consistent within each platform.
**Step 5 — Schedule** (30 min)
Load into your scheduling tool. Confirm the first-comment plan for any LinkedIn posts with links.
---
## Evergreen vs. Timely Split
Aim for 60/40 across a month:
Evergreen: 60% of posts (tutorials, frameworks, UGC, behind-the-scenes) Timely: 40% of posts (industry news, product updates, events, trends)
Evergreen posts can be written 2–3 weeks ahead. Timely posts need a 48-hour turnaround window — do not schedule timely posts more than 1 week ahead or they may be stale when they publish.
If a major news event happens, swap a timely slot from your calendar into that week. Have one blank "reserve" slot per week in your calendar specifically for reactive content.
---
## Repost and Repurpose Rules
| Content type | Repost window | Adaptation required |
|-----------------------|---------------------|------------------------------|
| Evergreen tutorial | 90 days minimum | New hook line, update stats |
| Behind-the-scenes | Do not repost | — |
| UGC / user story | 6 months minimum | Different framing angle |
| Industry insight | 60 days minimum | Add new data point or update |
| Poll | 30 days minimum | Change the options |
A repurposed post is not a lazy post. Change the hook entirely. If the original hook was a question, make the repurposed version a bold claim. Different hooks reach different segments of your audience even on the same platform.
---
## Warning Signs in Your Calendar
If any of these are true, fix the calendar before writing copy:
- **More than 2 consecutive days of the same content type** — algorithm diversification suffers; audience fatigues faster
- **No UGC or social proof in Week 3 or 4** — the trust phase has no evidence; claims feel hollow
- **Promotional posts in Week 1** — you haven't earned the ask yet; authority and value come first
- **All posts on one platform** — cross-platform diversification is a reach hedge; single-platform strategy creates fragile dependency
- **Friday post is promotional** — Friday is for engagement and fun; promotional on Friday performs worst across all platforms consistently

## Instagram
(Safe Zone)
|------|-----------|-------|---------|
MP4 / MOV | MP4 / MOV | MP4 / MOV |
23-60 fps | 23-60 fps | 23-60 fps |
3,500 kbps | 5,000+ kbps | 3,500 kbps |
### Carousel
---
## Facebook
---
## LinkedIn
Carousel(Document Post)
- **格式**:PDF(建議)、PPT
(X Premium)|
---
## Threads
**Canva / Figma
Instagram | LinkedIn | Facebook | X |
|---------|-----------|----------|---------|---|

|------------|------------|
| IG Feed(手機閱讀)| 24pt(在 1080px 畫布上)|
- 工具:Stark(Figma 插件)或 WebAIM Contrast Checker

Checklist
